We finally made it back to the zoo today. It was a "mild" 84 degrees this morning - probably the coolest it will be the rest of the summer - so we jumped on it! We met our new neighborhood friends out there too. You have been doing so many animal sounds lately that I knew you'd love it. Your favorite thing by far...the monkeys! You laughed and laughed:
You also enjoyed the penguins. They sure were interested in you:
We also enjoyed feeding the fish:
You really enjoyed the chickens too - loved the rooster and his "cock-a-doodle-doo"! And kept trying to move to be close to him.
We had such a big day today! We celebrated Grandmother's birthday at Red Lobster and you went the entire meal without a Paci or watching cartoons on my phone! Course, you had 4 cousins there to keep you entertained, and stickers. Afterwards, we went to pick blueberries at Wye and you did so good and enjoyed it! It was pretty hot so you and Momma petted the bunnies while Daddy finished picking the gallon. Afterwards, we went to Conway and you played more with with your cousins and squealed the entire time with delight!
You love to help Momma and Daddy now! You help Momma bring in the groceries (I give you a sack with one item), put away the dishes, sweep the floor and even put clothes in the washer or dryer. You like to help fold clothes, course you are a little young for this and usually throw clothes lol! You also enjoy helping Daddy with his projects and love his tools. Here's a few pictures of you and Daddy building a porch swing:
You are steadily increasing your vocabulary and Momma is so proud! I think all of the ear infections you had last year delayed you slightly, so we are going to do testing for speech therapy tomorrow morning. When you read this when you are older, please know that I had the same issue and didn't really start talking until I was two and a half. I imagine you will do the same. However, Momma found a free speech therapy program and is going to utilize it until then. You are as smart as a whip and understand everything I'm saying. I really think it was the ear infections that caused the slight delay. Plus, you have Momma at home that anticipates all of your needs and knows your every cry and grunt, so who needs to talk, right?! I love you so so much and just want you to have every advantage. So, we are choosing to explore this free therapy route for you. In the mean time, here's your enormous progress (I'm so proud!):

Okay, I can't take a picture of this, but wanted to let you know that somehow you can already whistle! It's amazing and always catches me by surprise.
Here's a random picture of you saying "cheese" when I got out the camera.
I also got some of your Papa's art (photography) framed this week. Yours is the ladybug (of course). Ava's is the wildflowers. I think this is just going to be so adorable and something you will always treasure!
Here's what I look like right now:
I'm pretty tired. I nap when you do now. I'm trying to keep up with you, but so glad that you give me patience. We watch a few more cartoons than I would like, but only a couple of more months until sister arrives and things will return to a new normal.
